On the Road: KXT’s crew met up with the great Brett Dennen a few hours before his show at the Granada Theater May 7, 2011. Dennen played the song “Make You Fall in Love with Me” – off his latest album Loverboy – in the alleyway adjacent to the theater.
On The Road: After driving up from Austin to perform a double set at The Kessler Theater, singer-songwriter Bob Schneider agreed to play an acoustic version of “Let the Light In” in front of the venue for KXT’s “On the Road” crew.
On The Road: Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall took some time before her show at the Granada Theater to perform an acoustic version of “Fade Like A Shadow,” a song familiar to listeners of KXT 91.7.
On the Road: South by Southwest is over, but the On the Road video series isn’t. KXT caught up with Joe Pug the afternoon before his show at The Loft in Dallas. Joe braved an already hot sun to play his soulful tune “How Good You Are” on the balcony of the venue, with the Dallas skyline in the background.
On The Road: After driving all night from their Dallas gig to South by Southwest in Austin, the band members of Middle Brother performed a beautiful, acoustic version of their song “Million Dollar Bill” off their eponymous debut album.
On The Road: After fighting with the SXSW crowds and gusty winds blowing through downtown Austin, meeting Sarah Jaffe for a performance inside her hotel room north of the city was a welcome reprieve.
On The Road: Cas Haley singing on a pedicab during SXSW? Of course! Cruising through an Austin neighborhood, Cas sings “Will I Find” off his album “Connection.”
On The Road: KXT met up with the O’s following their performance at Doc’s Motorworks in Austin during SXSW. Bandmate John Pedigo and Taylor Young set up to perform in front of the iconic Austin Motel.
“On The Road” is a new series for KXT and Art&Seek. Kelly Upshaw, frontman for The Hope Trust, agreed to go first. Filming took place March 10 on the square in Denton. The results: pretty darn cool. Check it out and look for more On the Road videos next week, when the music conference gears up at South By Southwest.
