A decade and more than a dozen albums later, singer-songwriter @charleycrockett has taken the next step, moving from his relentless, self-motivated hustle to a major label signing, releasing his 15th studio album, “Lonesome Drifter,” on Island Records.

“This is my first LP on a major label,” Crockett wrote in a March 14 Instagram post. “If you know me, then you already know they gave me everything I wanted… This album here, it just kinda happened like a casual conversation you might say.”

To celebrate the new record, Crockett will perform on the stage inside @goodrecords on Saturday, March 22.

The Fort Worth African American Roots Music Festival is celebrating its 5th anniversary this year. The festival kicks off at 12 PM on Saturday, March 15 at Fort Worth’s @southsidepreservation, and will feature a broad spectrum of performances, lectures and events, including appearances from @domflemons, @kyshonamusic and @rissipalmermusic.
