Radio Stations Nationwide Honor Prince With Simulcast Of “Nothing Compares 2 U”

Prince

On Wed, May 4 at 5:07 pm CT, you’ll hear Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” on KXT.

You’ll also hear it on KEXP (Seattle), WXPN (Philadelphia), WFUV (New York),  KUTX (Austin) and Radio Milwaukee…just to name a few.

That’s because we’re teaming up with our good friends over at The Current — and radio stations across the country — to honor the late artist with a nationwide simulcast of one of his most famous songs.

At exactly 5:07 pm CT, which marks “7 hours and 13 days”— a lyric from the song — since the musical icon’s passing, “Nothing Compares 2 U” will broadcast on stations from coast to coast.

In the words of Jim McGuinn, program director of The Current, “We thought marking this moment over the airwaves with one of his most ubiquitous songs would be a wonderful way to honor his legacy. We hope that wherever Prince fans are, and whatever radio station they are listening to, they will take a minute to listen and remember his musical genius and artistry.”

Well said, Jim.

We hope you will all meet us on the dial at 5:07 pm CT tomorrow Wednesday, May 4. You can also stream live on kxt.org.
