Richard Koehler

A few months ago we asked you, our listeners, to create a T-Shirt for the next KXT pledge drive. Then we narrowed down a list of designs and asked you to vote for your favorite.

You picked well.

It is our pleasure to introduce Richard Koehler, the winner of the KXT Turns 5 T-shirt contest. His singing Texas design was an overwhelming favorite among our listeners, and we’re excited to make it available as a T-shirt or mug when you make a contribution to KXT.

Here’s more information about Richard’s work:

Blue Texas

The winning design

“I am a native Texan that grew up in Houston with a passion for art and got my degree in graphic design from the University of North Texas, ka kaaa! Since then I have worked as the creative director of Retro 1951, a gift company that specializes in fine writing pens. Coming home from work, I love to continue my creative pursuits of painting and sketching offbeat cartoons like “Lone Star,” the guitar strumming Texas. Lately I have been going back to the basics of pen and ink drawings, doodling mindlessly and illustrating characters with stories that beg to be told. When I am not creating, I love spending time with my wife, family and friends plus my four huskies.”
