This June marks the 55th anniversary of the South Dallas Pop Festival, with a goal of showcasing local bands that were thriving in Dallas clubs. Musician and festival organizer Roger Boykin recalls the vibrant music scene that spawned the festival – and the legacy it left that is still felt today.
