New Music Monday picks – September 28, 2015

Your post-supermoon New Music Monday picks are good n’ plenty today:

It’s love at first listen with the return of Lafayette, Louisiana’s Givers. They’re back in November with the long-awaited to follow-up to In Light, the 2011 debut responsible for whipping both fans and critics into a celebratory tizzy, ready for the next wave. File their new lead single “Record High, Record Low” under “the joyous melodic.” New Kingdom arrives November 13.

Your ears will perk up at the sound of his voice, and marvel at the sweet new sonic direction he’s taking. NOLA hero Harry Connick, Jr. is back with “(I Do) Like We Do,” a soulful little strut of a jam produced by Butch Walker. Due date for That Would Be Me: October 23.

Brooklyn’s baroque pop collective San Fermin just dropped their digital deluxe edition of Jackrabbit, just in time for their tour with Alt-J. Catch both bands at the South Side Ballroom next Monday, October 5, and enjoy this bit of loveliness to help tide you over until then.

Fort Worth power-pop quartet Red Admirals deliver beautifully on “The Anchor,” a punchy waltz that’ll feel right at home on your playlist and can be found on their debut EP, Year Of The Flood:

Happy listening!

xoxo
