DylanBob Dylan breaks another record: Tuesday afternoon an unidentified bidder bought the only known draft of Bob Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone” lyrics for $2 million at Sotheby’s rock and roll auction. What is now considered one of the greatest songs of all time, “Like a Rolling Stone” was once just hand-written words on four sheets of hotel stationary. Far exceeding the $1.2 million that John Lennon’s lyrics of “A Day in the Life” sold for, this is the highest piece of rock music sold at an action.

 

Graham Nash talks of rerecording CSNY’s “Déjà Vu”: In an interview with Rolling Stone, Graham Nash explained his desire to record the 1970 album straight through, without stopping between songs. While there is no word yet on if the rest of the quartet is on board to re-record the album, the band is releasing a box set of live recordings from their 1974 reunion tour. The due date for CSNY 1974 is set for July 8.

Frances Bean Cobain, daughter of Kurt Cobain, takes twitter to reprimand Del Rey for romanticizing the death of young musicians. On twitter, Del Rey expressed her regret in trusting The Guardian and that Jonze “was hiding sinister ambitions.” The tweets have since been deleted.

 

Rock the vote reboot: Voter mobilization organization, Rock the Vote, is back for the midterm elections and hopes to register 1.5 new voters, 400,000 under the age of 30. The non-partisan non-profit will continue to work with celebrities to encourage voting, but this election they are thinking digitally. With a new president and leadership team, Rock the Vote is working to increase their digital and social media presence.
