Though he has made music of all types: early alt-country with Rank and File and the True Believers, chamber music with his string quartet, and his own solo records, Alejandro Escovedo has probably gained more acclaim from his most high profile fan, Bruce Springsteen. The Boss joined Escovedo to cover “Beast of Burden” at the Stone Pony recently, and the resulting attention has brought more listeners to his latest record, Street Songs Of Love. This track shows how Alejandro, even at 59, can still crank out high energy rock and roll with the best of them.
