Legendary songwriter Guy Clark stopped by the KXT studios with his good friend and sideman Verlon Thompson on Wednesday, November 18th. Clark started off by playing one of the songs that made him famous, “L.A. Freeway”, from his classic record Old No. 1. Jerry Jeff Walker took this song into mainstream popularity and turned a wealth of fans on to Clark, who also had songs covered by Ricky Skaggs, Rodney Crowell, and the Highwaymen. Clark also played “The Guitar”, from his latest record Somedays the Song Writes You, which allowed Verlon Thompson to show off his chops..
