Mountain Stage is a two-hour radio show that showcases very diverse music, from the traditional to the modern. Since 1983, Mountain Stage has championed live music in its two-hour format featuring as many as five guests each week, along with host Larry Groce and the Mountain Stage Band. The show offers a dependably eclectic array of artists and genres all captured in a spontaneous, warm, live performance atmosphere.
Mountain Stage has given many well known artists some of their first national exposure: Norah Jones, Lyle Lovett, Ryan Adams, Ani DiFranco, Ben Harper, Lucinda Williams, Alison Krauss and Barenaked Ladies, to name only a few. Established artists like the Neville Brothers, Joan Baez, REM, Martina McBride, Buddy Guy and Bela Fleck are among the more than 1,700 musicians who come to play the Mountain Stage.
