Mike DoughtySince fronting the alternative rock band Soul Coughing, Mike Doughty has expanded his unique brand of stream-of-consciousness lyrics paired with driving, insistent rhythms over the course of five solo albums. His first tour behind the acoustic record Skittish helped him sell 20,000 copies of the record, which was in a plain white sleeve at the time. His next few records, released on Dave Matthews’ ATO Records. has helped further his solo career. Mike Doughty – “(I Keep On) Rising Up”

Adrian HuletOriginally a drummer, Adrian Hulet has always had a strong rhythmic sense about his music. This was first heard with his band Oso Closo, which brought together members of North Texas’ jazz programs with Hulet’s strong vocals and piano. Now that the band has dissolved, Hulet has continued as a solo act, and brings his intense live show to Barefoot at the Belmont on July 7. Adrian Hulet (with Oso Closo) – “Photograph”
