Jason Isbell, Maria Taylor
June 2, 2011
KXT is proud to present Barefoot at the Belmont, a summer concert series at the beautiful Belmont Hotel. Next in our series we feature Alabama singer-songwriter Jason Isbell, along with Maria Taylor. Seating is extremely limited, so reserve your tickets now!
Doors open at 7p, with Maria taking the stage at 8p, followed by Jason at 9p.
Jason IsbellJason Isbell rose to fame as a member of the Drive-By Truckers, where he served as a guitarist, singer and songwriter for four years. Leaving to pursue a solo career, he quickly released Sirens of the Ditch, followed two years later by Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. His songs show wisdom beyond his 32 years, and his guitar prowess pushes his live show over the top. He and his band released their third record Here We Rest on April 12th, a new collection of songs informed by the Muscle Shoals area where Jason lives. Jason Isbell – “The Blue”

Maria TaylorMaria Taylor first gained acclaim as half of the Saddle Creek Records due Azure Ray. Originally from Alabama, Taylor met bandmate Orenda Fink at age 15, which lead to moderate success on the indie rock circuit. When that band disbanded in 2004, she went solo, releasing three records over the past 5 years. Her latest, Lady Luck, shows the progression of her music, combining the pop edges of Azure Ray with a heavy folk influence. Maria Taylor – “Cartoons and Forever Plans”
