December Concerts In North Texas

The odds of snow are slim this holiday season, so take a walk through a live music wonderland instead.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…to catch a show, that is. Take a break from the holly and the jolly to catch one of these fantastic concerts this month in North Texas.

KXT 91.7 Presents Guster

Fri, Dec. 2
Granada Theater
Tickets available here.
Ever since their humble beginnings at Tufts University, the members of Guster have always sought to outdo themselves. With their latest album Evermotion under their beltsnot to mention their 25th anniversary ahead of them — we expect their Granada Theater show to be no different.

KXT 91.7 Presents Kurt Vile

Tue, Dec. 13
Trees
Tickets available here.

It’s not often we get the sudden urge to hop in a truck, meander down Midwestern highways, stay in motels and live off nothing but sunflower seeds and cola. However, when we listen to Kurt Vile‘s 2015 album, b’lieve i’m goin down…, all bets are off. That voice — not to mention the hair — is inimitable. Hear it for yourself on Tuesday, December 13 at Trees in Deep Ellum.

CANCELLED KXT Holiday Concert feat. Michael Kiwanuka*

Wed, Dec. 14
Trees

*Update on 11/30: We are so sad to share that due to vocal damage, Michael Kiwanuka has cancelled his North American tour, including the KXT Holiday Concert. If you purchased your tickets by credit card, a refund will automatically be issued to your card within 7-10 days. Otherwise, refunds are available at point of purchase.

If Christmastime seems like an endless list of parties and cocktail hours and family gatherings, it’s because it is. Take a break from it all to come party with us at Trees in Deep Ellum! British soul musician Michael Kiwanuka will headline, with special guests Cloves and local artist Adam Case.

Nick Waterhouse

Thu, Dec. 15
Club Dada
Tickets available here.
California’s vintage singer-songwriter Nick Waterhouse hits up Club Dada in Deep Ellum just three months after the release of his third album Never Twice.  If you haven’t given a listen to that album’s foot-tapping, dance-inducing track “Katchi” (recorded with Fort Worth’s Leon Bridges), then we suggest you do so immediately.

David Bowie, Prince, Leonard Cohen, Sharon Jones…we are so over 2016. This New Year’s Eve, we’ll be welcoming a new year with wide-open arms at The Rustic. Dallas bluesman Charley Crockett will perform, making this a not-to-be-missed night. Bye bye, 2016. We won’t miss you.
