New Music Monday Picks For January 25, 2016

Your New Music Monday picks for January 25 include a UK rhythm and blues ace, a Boston quartet and the return of James Newell Osterberg!

Shake your tail feathers to “(Baby) Hold On,” the newest track from Van Morrison collaborator and UK soul man James Hunter, who just signed with Daptone for the release of his fourth album, Hold On!

Boston quartet Quilt dishes up girl group vibes, happy harmonies and sophisticated psychedelia in this new single, “Roller.” Keep an eye out for their third album, Plaza, which comes out February 26.

Denim Wonder is the brainchild of Dallas lyricist and singer Daniel Hopkins, and with the debut of Carnation comes this stunner of a track, “Breaking Your Heart.”

Full disclosure: The news that Iggy Pop would be joining forces with Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age gave us more than a little shiver of anticipation, and Post Pop Depression is the result of the yearlong collaboration that yielded nine new tracks, including the lead single, “Gardenia.” Gotta love that sweet nod to an earlier Iggy era in here, too.
