Concerts this week in North Texas

Look. We love catching out-of-town artists on their national tours as much as the next fan.

But, there’s something about seeing a local musician performing on their/our beloved home turf that’s pretty hard to beat. That’s why we’re a little more than jazzed about the concerts this weekend in North Texas. We’re keeping it local, guys. And that’s just the way we like it.

Dallas-based band The O’s are releasing their 4th studio album, Honeycomb, this Friday at The Kessler in Dallas. As the dynamic-duo told us in a recent KXT Q&A, John and Taylor have really put their heart, laughs and sweat into this one. But don’t they always?

Israel Nash may not be from North Texas. Heck, he may not even technically be from Texas. But after relocating from New York City to Dripping Springs, there’s no doubt that this Missourian, desert-folklorist is one of our own. We were blown away by his performance at Summer Cut this year, and we’re certain KXT Presents Israel Nash at Club Dada will be no exception.

“Have you heard of this guy Leon Bridges?”

….is something we’re guessing about 1 out of every 3 North Texans has said in the past year or so. The gospel/soul singer from Fort Worth has taken the world by storm in what has been — quite simply — a joyful and heartening career-ascent to follow. Sadly, and to no surprise, KXT Presents Leon Bridges at The Majestic Theatre is sold out. But to those lucky few who snagged tickets, we know you’re excited to see this local artist “come home”:

Happy (local) concerting!
