New Music Monday picks – September 14, 2015

Nothing like New Music Monday to clear out the weekend cobwebs and put some ooomph into the beginning of your week:

Always a treat to hear from Denton’s very own songbird Jessie Frye, who kicked off Summer Cut 2015 with a great big kiss of a performance and just got signed to Metaledge Records. Her new single “One In A Million” has sass and spark to spare, putting Frye’s knack for pop hooks out there for all the world to hear. Her new EP Boys Club lands October 9.

The Detroit duo formerly known as Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Jr is back with a new, more simplified name — JR JR — along with an eponymous album out on September 25 and a lead single you’ll be whistling along with in no time flat called “Gone.” Get your Monday happy on with this hilarious video:

Bill Reynolds from Band of Horses has joined forces with Jimmy Brown and C.J. Hardee of Matrimony for a new Nashville-based collaboration called Bassh. The self-titled debut includes this smoothly addictive lead single called “Body.”

Georgia rapper Raury is ready for his crossover close-up with the new single “Friends,” a bit of brilliance featuring some mighty fine lead guitar work from Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine. His debut All We Need is out October 16, via Columbia Records.

Happy New Music Monday!
