The Paul Slavens Show: Live Blog and Playlist for December 30 2012

Greetings and best Holiday Wishes !!!!   Last show of the year and very happy to have you with me.  I know the Cowboys are having a big game tonite but I am so happy you decided to turn down the volume and watch the spectacle with our music in the background.  Please leave me your polite comments and wonderful music suggestions.  Nothing more than 6 minutes long please, and be very careful not to suggest music with FCC noncompliant lyrics.  Oh, and leave a link if you can to where the music can be purchased,  Youtube is fine, but you cant always find everything for legal download.  Lets Go!

  • I’m in Houston listening to your show on my phone in a hotel room – working on the road. And I actually live in Florida at the moment, but grew up in Dallas (Oak Cliff, to be exact). I used to watch “Amoeba” and “The Big One Is Coming” live back in the day. I think Davis Bickston turned me on to you guys way back when.
Speaking of Davis Bickston, perhaps you could dig up Mildred’s album that has “Color Me” and spin that one?
I’d also love to hear some Brian Eno – perhaps “Burning Airlines Give You So Much More”, the lead track off his 1974 album entitled “Taking Tiger Mountain By Strategy”

    • pslavens_kera

You missed the Eno, I played early in the evening, but I may just play him again next week (I play entirely too much Eno, cuz he is one of my faves). Davis is alive and well, I will try to get my hands on some Mildred.

  • Anything by ….. ‘Of Monsters and Men’

    Portishead – good stuff.
